New Hampshire Skier turns into a Cowboy in Arizona

It has been about three weeks since I moved from the small town of Wolfeboro in New Hampshire to what seems to be another small town in Arizona. Buckeye. Buckeye, Arizona. Never in my life did I think, "Oh let's move to Buckeye, Arizona!" A strange town name to say the least. I have yet to have a chance to fully explore the Buckeye area due to the location I'm in being somewhat of a boxed-in community. The town next to me, Surprise, does give off a more metropolitan vibe compared to Buckeye.

Aside from my location, I moved out here for a few reasons. The first being, I needed to get out of New Hampshire. Born and raised in that small town of Wolfeboro for 22 years, I think it was time. I've done my fair share of traveling, in and out of the United States, but never actually moved anywhere aside from the university I attended (also in New Hampshire). With the four seasons revolving each year in New Hampshire, the one that drags on the longest is winter. Don't get me wrong, I love the snow and have been an avid skier since I was in the 3rd grade, but after years of shoveling, cold feet, and layers and layers of jackets and hoodies to keep warm, it was time for a change.

The second reason I decided to move was that I was seeking to start a new job and my career after graduating this past spring. Applying to many jobs this summer in Boston and southern NH, nothing really hit for me. Many of my close friends were already grinding at their new jobs in the Boston area and I highly considered moving there to still be in the comfort of my friends. Again, unfortunately, none of my interviews went successfully and I never moved out of my house this past summer. Now that I am in Arizona, I am happy that I am not in the Boston area currently. I do miss my friends from university dearly, but we're all at a point in our lives where we're young and any area that we're at now, most likely, isn't permanent.

The final and main reason I moved to Arizona was solely for pure adventure. As mentioned before, I needed a change, and with the hot and sunny weather in Arizona being the polar opposite of winter and snow in New Hampshire during December, it was the adventure I needed. I'm not sure how long I will be here, but my intentions are to stay for a year or two, but nothing is definite.

My main focus for this blog is really to tell others about my journey here in Arizona. What I'm doing with my free time, my job and career, and anything out of the ordinary that I witness. Aside from my "Arizonan" journey, I want to express my interest in clothes, thrifting, and shoes as well. I didn't mention it, but I'm a freak for vintage clothing and good sneakers (more so Nikes). Vintage Guess, Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, and just vintage clothes that you don't see every day. I'm planning on sharing pictures of pieces that are dear to me and if I thrift anything that is out of the ordinary as well.

That's going to wrap it up on my first post here. I hope to expand upon everything here as much as possible and have you be a part of my journey. The temperature here right now has been ranging from 50-60℉. Apparently, it gets in the 100's here , so let's hope I'm alive to keep writing.
